I just have to tell you this:
Freeverse is one great company. I first heard about them last year, when Michael wrote about Toysight. At the time I didn’t have the iSight necessary to play the game, but we were in the States around New Year, so I got the iSight (not only for this reason of course) and ordered the game. For various reasons the game unfortunately didn’t arrive in time before my departure from the States, so I left empty handed. Two weeks ago I stumbled upon an article about the game again, so I decided to order again.
What did they do? They sent me the game free of charge, as I had already paid. That’s service! Check out their other games as well, they have a fine collection! Europeans should be able to order Freeverse games from e.p.i.c. interactive

ADSL prices…
Well, one of the disadvantages living in a very small country is that the big companies don’t really bother to enter the market or just decide to milk the cow… Numericable (internet provider in neighbouring country France is offering a 8 mbps up and 512k down connection for the same price that I’m paying for my 512k… Is that fair…?

A good idea
A Whole Lotta Nothing notes a good idea. Donate your petty change when shopping! I totally agree with him. A nice and easy way to help others and you get rid of your change as well
ecto 2 in beta
The ecto blogging application has been sent out for the first round of beta testing. Yours truly is discovering the new features right now. So far it imported all settings correctly (from nine blogs) without a hassle.
This is like back in the days (not so long ago) when Adriaan gave us ecto instead of Kung-Log. The interface has had a makeover, and the user is now presented with a plethora of choices. This is a big update! Each blog can be setup on its own and has its own spelling dictionary, but unfortunately only the languages already available in the system. It would be nice to have a way to add dictionnaries, but hey that’s a minor thing!
Check out Adriaan’s description of the new features.
Have to go to work now. More later.
Preview of Ecto 2
Adriaan is not taking it easy during the Japanese summer. Have a look at the preview of ecto 2.
That is an app worth its weight in gold. Not only does he take into account the request from the users, but he comes up with all sorts of spiffy improvements on the features and the interface. Well done! Looking forward to v2 of ecto.
Antonio Curra
I discovered this by coincidence and I was shocked. Antonio, an Italian tourist visiting Denmark, was killed by two turks trying to rob him in Denmark in August last year. That is not shocking. People get mugged and killed everywhere, but how in heaven’s name can you refuse to help someone who shows you a stab wound he just received? A cab driver and his passengers all claimed that they didn’t have a mobile phone in working order and the cab driver (I reeeally doubt this) apparently didn’t have radio contact with the central… Bad isn’t it? Now listen to this: Antonio’s parents came to Denmark this week for a memorial service to be held for him, they put down flowers where he was killed. The flowers were later set on fire and someone wrote »HAHAHA« on the sidewalk… What is going through these people’s minds?
I lack words.
The Paneuropean iTMS
Well, the Danes seems to be first line for the Paneuropean store promised by Jobs at the Expo in Paris. Apparently Microsoft and Apple will try to launch as soon as possible in Denmark (by not earlier than October). I wonder if the music market is particular worth while in that country compared to countries like Spain, Switzerland, Czech Republic etc… And does this mean that the launch in the rest of Europe will be later than October? Before Christmas…? Spain ought to be on Apple’s list for a launch soon as it is a big music loving country…
As I’ve said before, all I’m really interested in is having Luxembourg on the list At the moment albums are sold for around 16-18 euros, which is holding me off buying anything.
The Daring T-shirt
It has arrived. To follow the tradition established else where, I hereby post a photo as well
John Gruber, author of the Daring Fireball, offered T-shirts in return for support.
