Air quality by SMS

Eric Paulos of Intel Research has launched an SMS system for mobile phone users in the US to learn about the quality of the air around them. Called Ergo, the system uses data from the US Environmental Protection Agency’s airnow.gov site and Weatherbug.com.

I would like to see something similar in Europe. Even more interesting would be something to pick up the pollen levels etc…

    There is a online pollen service available at http://www.pollen.lu not very user-friendly but the information you want is probably there …

    Thanks for the input. That is a beginning. I’m sure the people who are allergic wouldn’t mind paying a fee to retrieve this information via SMS instead of having to go to http://www.pollen.lu
